How I built up Muscle as a Software Engineer — Learn to give a shit

If I would have heard on other peoples opinion while I’m on the way of reaching my goals, I would have never reached them. It all started in the very beginning of my gym time. In the first months already, people accused me of taking steroids — obviously because they thought it is not possible to gain muscle without that. I took it as a compliment rather than being fucked up.

Some needed an exact explanation of what I did and how I did it. By this time I was going to parties pretty often. Most of the time, I did not drink any alcohol or very very less. Interestingly, most of the people who asked me about my muscle did it when they were drunk. They were always coming with their stories about ‘yea I’m going to the gym now, but somehow don’t see results’. I asked myself if they wanted the truth or not.

Then there are the people who talk about you behind your back. And you get to know about what they said from a related person. Most of the times you probably don’t hear about it. For example, there were many situations when people couldn’t believe that you can build muscle naturally. Maybe it was related to how fast the muscle gains happened in the beginning. Or these people have just a limited mindset and don’t know what is possible. Either way, those are haters who don’t bring good to you and you must ignore them.
